I remember exactly where I was the moment a plane

I remember exactly where I was the moment a plane hit the first tower on 9/11. I was walking across @vanderbiltu campus reluctantly going to class and thinking about football practice as we were only a few weeks into the 2001 season. I remember meeting @coachnorv and @coachclay99 (who were always together) and asked them why they weren't in class. None of actually knew what had happened, but classes were not open and the campus was eerily silent for what should have been a buslting morning in Nashville. We then all walked to find the nearest TV to watch the aftermath of what to most of us was the worst thing we had ever experienced in our short lives.

Fast-forward to me in the Aubrey Texas Firehouse after I had played my last snap in football and flopping around life searching for a purpose. It seemed I found the thing I was built for. The strength, the fearlessness (or blind stupidly) and the burning desire to help people I had been blessed with made being a firefighter come natural to me. To the 343 who all set out to climb 110 floors to help anyone and everyone who needed help that September morning to them
It came just as natural, and I thank them from the depths of my heart. I don't fight fire anymore and didn't I'm 2001 , but if given the opportunity I would have without hesitation, thrown on my Bunker gear ,boots and SCBA and commenced the climb shoulder to shoulder with my brothers.

September 11, 2001 was a day of great loss for the United States, but it was also a day we as a nation came together. On this day as we remember those who lost their live and those who risked it all if only to save one , let us not forget that UNITED WE STAND, and that while we are learning to accept, we will NEVER FORGET! #USA #911 #unitedwestand #343 #neverforget.
